Starting from the dawn of human civilization, Zeitgeist's story arc starts with the birth of religion as based on a human nature to worship the sun to giving life on the planet. Many world religions then stemmed off of that "god-as-sun" worship model and many early religions, include Christianity, are mainly interprations of the zodiac, the cycle of the sun, and the constellations in the sky. From here the story explains the re-interpretation of the Christian doctrine (the bible) through the ages to benefit those in control as references to nature and balance were taken out. Gradually we move to our current time and the control of the world affairs by those with money and power. In failing to find the words to explain this entirely at this point, I suggest watching this to start you off. The new Smashing Pumpkins record is also called Zeitgeist as well, maybe a similar story arc is buried in Corgan's fuzzed out guitar riffs?
